terms and conditions

I am a self-employed web designer who has worked with individuals and small business for several years. My full time job involves internet technology in higher education. Please note that the inclusion of shopping carts, discussion boards, membership facilities are website features that involve databases and are outside my realm of expertise. However should you require these items, they can be added onto pages later should you wish to find a designer to do so. Alternatively we can explore the use of “plug-ins” which you can purchase on the web to serve these purposes.

Mode of operation: We will both agree and sign a working specification for the site (based on the design checklist), and we will go through an iterative process to produce the site that you require. If the client is to provide additional content, I require this within the timeframe.

We will agree a mutual deadline for the completion of the final site and uploading to the internet. Any additions or alterations after this point will be charged separately. You will receive a copy of the finished website files and images on CD-rom.

Whilst I endeavour to develop the website to function with the commonest web browser applications (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla) I cannot guarantee correct function with all browser applications.

Intellectual property: All the design code, images and graphics supplied by NVIVE will be original and therefore not infringe on anybody else’s intellectual property. The completed website will be your copyright, and if possible I would like my URL to be placed on the footer of the page.

Payment terms: A fixed fee will be agreed up front and a deposit of 10% included with the signed specification. A final invoice will be issued on completion and payment made in full within 7 days of receiving this. Payment can be made via PAYPAL or by sending cheque.

The payment excludes the cost for domain name and hosting fees which you will need to purchase if you haven’t done so already, although I can help with this. I am not a VAT registered company.
